You can see that they all liked the poles to climb on. When Sezon told Deyja that they were coming to great grandma's house, she immediately wanted to know if I was the one with all of the poles to play on.

Just a note on who is who in the group picture:
Kristin and Roy are on the back, I'm holding Jazmyn, Kristin's oldest daughter,Grandpa is holding Sezon's baby, Sezon is holding Erika (Kristin's youngest child) and her first son, Danny, Then Deyja and George are in the front. Adele and Gordon and Kris and Eric were also there but they didn't get in the picture.

Hail, Hail the gang was not all here, but here is a picture of a few that were here.

I have been keeping busy trying to get some scarves crocheted. The American Legion Aux. has ask us to please furnish some crocheted or knitted scarves to present to each particapant in the winter special Olympics. We felt like it was a very worthwhile project so I have made two and I am now on my third one.

The exciting adventurres at the lazy R ranch

This last week has been a busy one with all of the honoring of the veterans. Last Saturday the American Legion Aux. sponsored a dinner for all of the veterans in the valley and last Tuesday the grade school put a program on to honor the veterans. The picture of grandpa is showing off his new Legion cap. The program was very good and the little grade school kids sang their hearts out. It was a good thing for both the veterans and the school kids because it boosted the ego of the old veterans and it taught the kids about veterans and why we have Veterans Day.

Grandpa and I with Greg

Here are Grandpa and I with Greg on his birthday.

Greg's 24th birthday

It is Greg's birthday today and so Adele and I and Grandpa went up to Rexburg yesterday and met with him and took him out to dinner and spent a nice evening visiting with him. Today Adele brought Grandpa and I home because Grandpa was sick and then she (Adele) went back up to Pocatello and met Greg and they did some shopping and are going to bo to a movie and dinner. It was good to see him and to find out that he wants to go out in some kind of health related field too. He said to tell eveyone "hello" from him.

1st R & C Olson reunion

The picture below is one of our first reunion. Since then we had lost one or the oldest generations but we have added a whole new generation to our family. Can you grandkids find yourself in the picture? The picture didn't turn out as good as I wanted but it is the best that we can do for now. We love you all and hope that we can all get together for a reunion.

gathering our generations together

Adele and I have put our heads together
To try to find a way, our "kin" to gather.
A family reunion is the very best plan
for all who belong to the R and C Olson clan.
The July 24th weekend 2009 is out chosen date,
So put it on your calender when your summer plans you make.
We would really like to see these plans come to fruition,
So please send us your comments on all of this information.

sleeping angels

Grandpa snapped this picture at Luke's wedding luncheon. It was so cute that he just couldn't resist taking a picture of them. The little boys had been so busy being angels that they were just worn out and had to have a little nap. How blessed we are to have such cute great grandchildren.

"I LOVE A PARADE!!!!!

Well, I just witnessed the Downey Fair Parade, the biggest event of the year that Downey has. I must say that it was a very good parade. Grandpa rode on the American Legion float. I had a ringside seat, I just took a chair out on the front step and watched it a couple of times. As it left down by the park and then as it ended out on the road in front of our house.

We have been enjoying the fruits of our labor from the garden. Grandpa has brought home squash, cucumbers, potatoes, and onions. It has been a very good garden so far. The corn will soon be ready and then the beans after that. We have really enjoyed everything so far.

The fair will continue down at the park for the rest of the week and there is going to be entertainment and things going on all of the time. I hope to get down one day and look at the entries in the homemaking departments, even though I don't do much sewing or crocheting any more.

Little Eric came down to see the parade from Pocatello and he came and visited with us for about an hour. My goodness he has grown, he is as tall as I am and is 15 years old and will start high school this fall. Sunrise, sunset, quickly go the days, I can't remember growing older, when did he and all of my other grandchildren and greatgrandchildres. Oh well, so much for my old age, I am going to try to enjoy it as long as I can.

This is my family newsletter to everyone and Grandpa and I send our love to all of you.

Grandpa and I are going up to Pocatello where we are supposed to meet with Tara and her kids, so I want to get some pictures of them and post if I can. The picture that I want to post now is of Grandpa's garden which was supposed to go with the last post that I made. Lov'yall.

Mary, Mary quite contrary, how does your garden grow?

Grandpa has been bragging about how good his garden looks, so I decided to ride out to the farm with him and look at it. He does have a great garden, with onions, peas, potatoes, corn, beans squash and a few beets and carrots, but not a weed in sight. He is really fussy about keeping the weeds out of it. The peas are in blossom and have some pods on them, so we won't have new peas and potatoes for the 4th of July, but we should have some in about a week or ten days. We invite any who wants to come and have some with us!!!!!!!!

I have been busy with my exercise class, it is a fit and fall proof class to build up your leg and thigh and arm muscles so that you don't fall as easy. I think that it has helped me. I have also been trying to organize and take inventory of what we have in our food storage because the church has really been stressing that lately. So we try to keep busy and our of trouble, ha, ha that is a joke cause we can't move fast enough to get into much trouble. Love to all.

variety of activities

Well it has been quite a week! I first had to chauffer a 96 year old little lady to Pocatello to do some shopping cause she can't drive any longer. Then I had a Girl State meeting where we heard a patriotic talk, Thursday we went to a funeral of one of Grandpa's cousins in Preston. Today we spent the day at a family reunion of Grandpa's mothers family. It was special. There were two couples who reported on their mission that they had just come home from. In our report, Grandpa and I announced that we had just had our 26th great grandchild and that they were all the cutest in the whole world. Yes, we are very proud of our children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, boy are we getting a large number of posterity, Zion is growning. Love to everyone.
